内容提要

  

    本书系统介绍科技英语的语言特点及科技文献的阅读技巧与方法，通过各种科技文体的阅读实践，使学生掌握常用的阅读技能并达到一定的熟练程度。
    本书共12单元．每单元由3部分组成。第一部分“讲座”，主要讲解科技文献的阅读技巧和方法。第二部分“阅读”，课文内容突出中西方科技史特色，介绍人类发展进程中各个时期科学和技术的发展、科技大发明和大发现、科学家故事等。第三部分“拓展阅读”，目的是给学生提供更多的阅读实践机会；同时，通过大量阅读增加词汇量，开阔视野。
    本书具有技巧与实践相结合、知识性与实用性相结合、系统性与针对性相结合的特色，适合作为高校非英语专业学生的科技英语阅读教材，也可供广大科技人员和科技英语爱好者阅读参考。
