内容提要

In recent years, the use of ICT (Information and Communication Technology) has brought huge changes and gains in employment, consumption, life style and gender equality in global e-commerce. Making good use of ICT-generated opportunities has contributed to increase the participation of developing countries in global value chains, and is gradually changing the pattern of international trade as well as intemational cooperation. This book presents the current status of global e-commerce development, and explores the problems confronted by this emerging sector worldwidely. Then it goes further to investigate the e-commerce market in representative countries, specificly, the BRICS including Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa and Plus ones including Austria, Cambodia, Ethiopia, Mexico and UK. On the basis of the data and analyses provided by local e-commerce researchers from respective countries, the book summarizes common challenges concerning ICT infrastructure, domestic market, cross-border e-commerce and laws & regulations that may hamper the future prosperity of e-commerce sector in the BRICS Plus.
